Biography
Born in San Giovanni Rotondo (Apulia), Matteo D'Apolito graduated with top honors from the "Umberto Giordano" Conservatory in Foggia, where he made his debut at the age of 22 in the role of Leporello in Don Giovanni.
Recognized for his versatility and powerful voice, he has performed in major Italian opera houses, including the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, the Rossini Opera Festival, the Teatro Regio in Turin, the Teatro Regio in Parma, the Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa, the Teatro Verdi in Trieste, the Teatro San Carlo in Naples, and the Teatro Filarmonico in Verona, as well as at prestigious festivals such as the Wexford Opera Festival, the Royal Opera House in Muscat, and the Seoul Arts Center. His repertoire ranges from Mozart and Rossini to Donizetti and Bellini, and includes concert works by Beethoven, Fauré, Orff, Stradella, Rossini, and Schumann. He has recorded for Naxos, Bongiovanni and Sky Classica HD.
In the 2024-2026 seasons Matteo D’Apolito sang the roles of Alidoro in La Cenerentola at the Teatro Carlo Felice di Genova, at the Theater Köln, the Teatro Verdi di Trieste, Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino and the Teatro Filarmonico of Verona, the role of Colline in La Bohème at the Stadttheater Bozen and the Teatro Sociale in Trento, Bartolo in I Barbieri di Siviglia at the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Teatro Verdi Trieste, at the Teatro dell'opera Giocosa in Savona, Dandini in La Cenerentola at the Teatro Marrucino in Chieti, the role of Gaudenzio in Il Signor Bruschino, at the Teatro Marrucino in Chieti and Duclamara in L’elisir d’amore at the National Opera of Tirana.
In the oratorio repertoire, he sang the bass solo in Rossini's Petite Messe Solennelle at the Prague Conservatory Auditorium and Herod in St. John the Baptist with the Furiosi Affetti Baroque Orchestra at the Basilica of St. John in Rome.
Upcoming engagements include Raimondo Bidebent in Lucia di Lammermoor (role debut), as well as the role of Segrestano in Toxca at the Immling Festival in Germany, Bartolo in I Barbieri di Siviglia at the Bonn Theatre, and Dulcamara in L’elisir d’amore at Glyndebourne.

She sang Ser Podesta in Foroni's Margarita at the Wexford Festival recorded for the BBC and nominated for an Oscar. He also sang the role of Tobia in the Rossini Festival in
Bad Wildbad in Germany, which was recorded for the Naxos label. Don Profondo in Il Viaggio a Reims at the Rossini Opera Festival and Selim in Il Turco in Italia at the Teatro Municipale di Placenza.
In the oratorio repertoire, he has also sung the bass solo in Mozart's Requiem with the Ensemble Sante Teresa del Maschi in Baria, Herod in St. John the Baptist at the Basilica di San Bautista in Rome, bass solo in Rossini's La Petite Messe Solenelle with the Amiata Piano International Festival at the Teatro Verdi in Pandemonium and at the Auditorium of the Conservatory in Prague, and Stradella's Oratorio di San Giovanni.
